Remote Agents in Validated or Regulated Environments
Remote Agents (RAs) are customer-managed components within a validated Seeq deployment. Unlike the Seeq SaaS application, which follows a regulated release cadence, RAs are installed, validated, and upgraded by customers according to their internal quality and change-control procedures.
Version Compatibility and Support Window
Remote agents are supported for 12 months from its release and are compatible with Seeq releases within that window. This allows validated customers to:
Maintain consistency by validating a specific RA version
Continue to use their validated RA version when upgrading Seeq
Plan an RA upgrade on their own validation schedule
Choosing an RA Version During a Seeq Server Upgrade
When upgrading to a Seeq regulatory release, customers may either:
Continue using their currently validated Remote Agent version, as long as it remains within the 12-month support window, or
Choose any RA version released within the past year to align with internal validation practices.
There is no requirement to upgrade to the latest Remote Agent unless the Agents tab of the administration page specifically indicates that an upgrade is required. Additionally, Remote Agents do not have to be the same version, allowing for a version of the remote agent to undergo validation, while the production version is in use.
