What's New?

Seeq fala português

Brazilian Portuguese has been added as a new language. Select it from the language dropdown in your User Profile to work with Seeq in Portuguese.

Condition Notifications in SaaS

While Seeq has supported notifications with Add-ons for several releases, now users can configure email notifications for conditions from within Workbench! This has been a highly requested feature so that users can be notified to investigate something further.

Along with allowing configuration for individual conditions in Workbench, a new Notifications Management page is available for all users to see all notifications they have configured in one location. You can make updates to these notifications from this management page or from workbench.

Read more in the KB Notifications on Conditions .

Email Scheduled Documents in SaaS

SaaS users can also receive emails after documents update on a schedule. Any auto updating document that is updating on a fixed schedule (daily/weekly/monthly) can be emailed to recipients on the configured schedule. Emails cannot be configured for Live updating documents.

Email recipients can be Seeq users, but emails of individuals who do not have Seeq accounts can also receive these emails. Consider viewing the document in Fixed Width instead of Auto Width (select in toolbar) to anticipate the PDF layout.

Better Home Screen Search

Journal and Organizer text is now searchable from the Home Screen using the Content or All selectors from the search dropdown. Users have been adding important information to Journals and Organizers for years, and now that information can be discoverable from the Home Screen.

More user configuration

Coloring Table based Charts

When charts were first available in R55, only default coloring was provided. We got quick feedback that more control would be nice. Now you can choose to use signal color as shown in the details pane or the rainbow coloring when displaying a chart. Make this selection from the new color icon in the toolbar.

Signal coloring does not apply for charts across assets.

Dark Mode

We’ve lightened up parts of the interface while also enabling a dark mode option from the User Profile. This setting will apply to the user individually and will not impact how others see content create if they prefer the light mode. PDFs and Powerpoint exports will remain light, even if you are viewing the screen in dark mode.

Dark mode doesn’t reach to Data Lab Projects or Add-ons yet, but if you have been using the JupyterLab option, you can apply a dark view through JupyterLab.

Organizer Template placeholders

Templates now support placeholders as another way to insert content into an Organizer Topic. Click on any placeholder and insert content via URL or by navigating through the files on the home screen. These two means of inserting content have also been combined in the insert dropdown. Read more on placeholders in the KB.

Formula Changes

Administrators

Permissions clarity in Workbench

Sometimes access control can be complex when individual users are part of a group. This release has a new Check Access tab on the Access Control modal that launches from Home Screen, Workbench, or Organizer. This will only appear for administrators, but can be used to check if an individual has access to the appropriate content via membership in a group. From here, you can see which groups the individual user you are looking for is a member of, to add permissions to that whole group, or chose to add the individual user on the Manage tab.

Notifications Information and Controls

The previous Reports tab of the Administration Page has grown to include more information as the Schedules tab. This tab lets an administrator see both scheduled documents and notifications configured on the system in a single place. This will be helpful to understand and adjust server load from scheduled activity.

Administrators will be able to see all notifications configured on their view of the Notification Management page, while end users will only see the notifications they have configured.

Project Credits Usage

Administrators will now have access to improved visibility and understanding of Data Lab Project usage. This exciting new feature will enable administrators to gain valuable insights into the usage of Data Lab Projects. This information can be accessed via the Administration Panel under the dedicated "Usage" tab.

To view this valuable information, administrators simply need to toggle to "Credits" and click "Search". By doing so, administrators will be able to see a comprehensive overview of the Data Lab Project usage, which is measured in credits.

Configurable Login page text

Administrators can now add custom text to the area below username/password entry on the login page. This may come in handy if you manage a single sign on authentication mechanism and need to link users somewhere to request to be added to that. See the Features/Login/InfoMessage entry of the Configuration tab on the Admin page. You will need to enter HTML as shown in the example.
