Manual Conditions in Vantage

Vantage supports the creation of manual events, allowing users to input events directly into a room for specialized tracking and analysis. This article outlines the steps for enabling and using this feature, as well as how to edit these events in an analysis.

Enabling Manual Events in a Vantage Room

To begin using manual events in a Vantage room:

  1. Enable Manual Events. Set the property isManualEventsEnabled on the room object to true.

  2. Refresh the Page. After enabling, refresh the browser. The Settings sidebar will now include a new option labeled Manual events.

Creating a Manual Event

  1. Open the Manual Events Modal. Click on Manual events in the “Actions” tab in the left sidebar. This opens a modal where you can define and add new manual events.

  2. Select or Create a Manual Condition. Use the dropdown to select an existing manual condition scoped to the room. To create a new condition, type a new name into the dropdown and press Enter. This will define a new manual condition scoped specifically to the room.

  3. Add Event Properties (Optional). You can specify event properties as needed.

  4. Set Manual Condition Properties (Optional). You can define or override or override properties for the selected or newly created manual condition.

  5. Add the Event. Click Add event to confirm. (The manual condition itself will not be created or associated with the room until the event is added.)

  6. Event Appears in Evidence Table. The new event will now be listed in the room’s evidence table, linked to the chosen or newly created manual condition.

Editing a Manual Condition

To edit a manual condition after it has been created:

  1. Navigate to an Analysis Monitored by the Room. Open an analysis that includes a condition monitored by the Vantage room. If you do not have such an analysis, create a new analysis, add a condition to it, then monitor that condition in the Vantage room.

  2. Access the Vantage Details Modal. In the analysis, locate the Details pane and find the monitored condition. Click the small icon next to the condition’s name. This opens the Vantage Details modal.

  3. Add the Manual Condition to the Worksheet. At the bottom of the modal, you’ll see a list of manual conditions scoped to the room. Click the icon next to the desired condition to add it to the analysis worksheet.

  4. Edit Using the Manual Condition Tool. Once added to the worksheet, click the pencil icon in the Details pane. This opens the Manual Condition tool, where you can update the condition’s properties and logic.
