Frequently Asked Questions
I am excited about this capability! Why don't I see it where I Seeq?
Each customer needs to request to have this capability added to your environment. You can make that request with Support or any interactions you may have with the Seeq Team. After requested, it will become available to all users.
The AI Assistant is only available to SaaS customers, and the capabilities of the AI Assistant are release dependent. The AI Assistant in Formula and Seeq Data Lab become available with R64 upon request.
How will my data be used?
Questions asked of the AI Assistant are used only to generate and provide responses from AI models. Data submitted are not used for model training. Usage data will be used according to Seeq’s Privacy Policy, and you can read more on the AI Assistant Data Privacy page. For questions regarding the geographic locations in which these models are hosted, ask Seeq Support for more detail.
Are there prompt structuring requirements?
Assistants enabled with generative AI do best when provided complete questions or sentences. Many people have wired their brains for minimal keyword searches and will need to adjust to provide a complete and comprehensive request. For example, “identify the 3 hour period before my capsules” will likely yield better results than “3hr before”.
This AI Assistant already has the context of Seeq and various industrial analytics approaches, so further prompt structure requirements are minimal. Subsequent questions can build on the previously asked question for fine tuning of results or clarification.
How are hallucinations and data poisoning managed?
Seeq has both automated and manual quality assurance of all aspects of our generative AI products that check for product safety, quality and latency. We take all aspects of LLM models internals, prompt inputs and response abnormalities seriously and have many systems to mitigate diversions.
It is possible for this technology to provide incorrect answers including Seeq Formula functions that may not exist. You can provide feedback in Seeq for the AI Assistant in Seeq Data Lab and will be able to provide feedback in the General Assistant in future versions. Let us know if you encounter false information from the Assistant.
Is there a limit on the use of the AI Assistant?
The Seeq AI Assistant may have a monthly cap on the number of requests that can be made while we grow overall capacity in various global regions. We’ll be increasing this limit over time, but in the case your users hit a limit, it will reset the following month. Administrators will get more insight on utilization of the AI Assistant in future versions.
During periods of high utilization, there may be interruptions in responses from the AI Assistant.
What Languages is the AI Assistant available in?
The AI Assistant will respond in the same language used to ask the question. Formulas created by the AI Assistant will always appear in English because Formula Functions are not supported in other languages.
My company has made its own progress with GenAI and we can ask it questions about all our workorders and standard operating procedures. How can we invoke this model in Seeq?
One way to do this would be to invoke your GenAI models though a Seeq Data Lab Function, which you can expose to users through Add-on Tools in Workbench or the Home Screen. Read more here.
